West Virginia High School Teacher Charged With Sexual Abuse and Sexual Contact With a Student, Lootpress Reports
A teacher at Tucker County High School in West Virginia has been charged with sexual abuse and sexual contact with a student following an investigation by the West Virginia State Police, Lootpress reported on Oct. 4. The outlet identified the accused as a 22-year-old resident of Hambleton and said investigators allege the teacher was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student at the school.
According to Lootpress, the case began on Sept. 4, when the superintendent of Tucker County Schools contacted State Police after receiving an anonymous phone call alleging the relationship. The outlet reported that both the teacher and the student initially denied the allegations to investigators and said the only physical contact between them had been a hug, and that the superintendent later relayed additional information to troopers that had come to her from the high school's principal.
The broadcaster WDTV reported the same charges on Oct. 2, also citing the West Virginia State Police. Neither outlet's reporting indicates that the case has been resolved, and the charges are allegations that have not been proven in court.
