Oklahoma Police Lieutenant Arrested on 27 Counts Involving Children After State Bureau Investigation, KSWO Reports

A lieutenant with the Chickasha Police Department in Oklahoma has been arrested and now faces 27 criminal counts tied to allegations involving children, KSWO reported. According to the station, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said it had been assisting the city's police department with an investigation into the alleged possession of child abuse material.

KSWO reported that the 39-year-old officer faces 12 counts of indecent exposure to a minor and 14 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, among the charges filed in Grady County. Other outlets covering the same OSBI announcement reported that the officer was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service and booked into the county jail in early October.

The charges are allegations that have not been tested in court, and KSWO's reporting did not indicate that the officer has entered a plea. The station reported that the state bureau's investigation into the department's lieutenant had been underway for months before the arrest.
