Louisiana Sheriff's Office Books Former High School Band Director on 100 Felony Sex Counts

Sept. 26, 2026 · Bossier Press-Tribune

Detectives with the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a 56-year-old former band director at Haughton High School on 100 felony counts tied to alleged sex offenses involving a juvenile, according to the Bossier Press-Tribune. The outlet reported that the arrest grew out of an ongoing investigation into allegations involving a former student at the school.

The investigation began after an adult came forward to report sexual abuse said to have occurred over a period of years, at a time when the person was of high school age and participating in the school's band program, the Press-Tribune reported, citing the sheriff's office. Local station KSLA reported the same count of charges following the arrest.

Bossier Schools Superintendent Jason Rowland confirmed to the outlet that the former band director is no longer employed by the district and said the school system is cooperating with investigators. Rowland said district officials were "both shocked and saddened to learn of these charges brought forth." The charges are allegations, and the case remains under investigation; readers can find the full reporting at the source link.
