Former Upstate New York Police Officer Sentenced in Child Sex Abuse Case
A former police officer in Saugerties, New York, has been sentenced for a sexual offense involving a minor, News 12 reported this week. Hoodline, which also reported on the sentencing, said the former officer received a five-year sentence in connection with the sexual abuse of a teenage girl.
The sentencing follows a guilty plea entered earlier this year. CBS6 Albany reported in June that the former officer pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child; the case had been pending since felony sex offense charges were filed against him while he was serving on the village police force, according to earlier local coverage.
Full details of the sentence and the underlying case are in the linked reporting from News 12.
