Former Louisiana P.E. Teacher and Basketball Coach Booked on Molestation and Child Sex Abuse Material Counts

Oct. 9, 2026 · The Advocate

A former physical education teacher and basketball coach at a Livingston Parish, Louisiana school was arrested Wednesday night on multiple child sex crime counts, The Advocate reported, citing the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to The Advocate, the case began when Ponchatoula police arrested the 30-year-old on counts of possessing child sexual abuse material and prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student in Tangipahoa Parish, where he was most recently employed as a coach. Investigators seized his digital devices during that inquiry, and the sheriff's office said the material on them led detectives to alleged victims living in Livingston Parish. WAFB reported that the Ponchatoula investigation started after parents reported messages they found between a juvenile and the coach.

The Advocate reported that the newly identified allegations date to 2023 and 2024, when the man worked at a Livingston Parish school, and that he was booked into the parish jail on counts including molestation of a juvenile, indecent behavior with a juvenile, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, sexual battery, and possession and production of child sexual abuse material. Outlets including WAFB reported he is being held without bond.

The counts are accusations at this stage. This site does not name people accused of these crimes.
