Families and a Texas Lawmaker Demand a Criminal Inquiry Into a Former Conroe ISD Wrestling Coach Accused of Grooming Athletes

Oct. 10, 2026 · KPRC / Click2Houston

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office in Texas said it is actively investigating allegations against a former Conroe ISD wrestling coach accused of grooming and sexually exploiting female student-athletes, KPRC's Click2Houston reported on Oct. 8. According to the station, the coach, who previously worked at The Woodlands High School, resigned after allegations about his conduct surfaced in April 2026.

KPRC reported that families of accusers, joined by a state lawmaker, held a news conference calling on law enforcement to open an independent criminal investigation into the coach's conduct. State Rep. Steve Toth said multiple women have come forward, and some accusers describe alleged behavior stretching back more than a decade, according to the station's account.

No charges were reported as having been filed at the time of the report, and the allegations remain unproven. The full reporting, including the district's and sheriff's office's responses, is available at the source link.
